The Office of District Commissioner (DC Office) Goalpara Assam is seeking eligible candidates for the position of GIS Assistant on a contractual basis. Interested individuals are invited to apply for this administrative role.

Essential Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Geo-informatics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields with a Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.
• Alternatively, M. Tech/MSc in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics is acceptable.
• MCA/MA/MSc in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, or Environmental Science with Geoinformatics as a subject or Certificate/Diploma in GIS/Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics is also eligible.

Desirable Qualification:

• Proficiency in GIS Software like ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, or similar industry-standard tools.
• Familiarity with spatial data formats (e.g., Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.
• Knowledge of Geo-spatial analysis, image processing, drone survey data collection, and geospatial data development tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capability to work independently and manage task priorities efficiently.
• Previous experience in a GIS-related role or internship is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Roles:

• Digitize geospatial data for Cadastral and Non-cadastral villages.
• Update Cadastral Maps using Bhunaksha.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on GIS data for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and data visualizations using GIS tools.
• Offer technical support on GIS to team members and users.
• Interpret drone photos and high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI).
• Utilize survey machinery such as RTK GNSS Rovers, ETS, DGPS, etc., for land mapping.

Salary: Rs. 25000/- per month

Age: Applicants should be between 21 and 45 years old as of December 1, 2023.

Selection Procedure: A walk-in-interview is scheduled for January 8, 2024, starting at 11:30 AM. The venue is the Office Chamber of the Additional District Commissioner (Revenue) in Goalpara, Assam.
