Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) in Guwahati, Assam, seeks a Medical Research Officer for an ICMR-sponsored project on the “Population Based Cancer Registry” in Kamrup district. It was established by the ‘Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Society Trust’ and inaugurated in November 1973, becoming operational in 1974. Recognized as a Regional Cancer Centre by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India in 1980, it was later handed over to the Government of Assam in 1986 while maintaining its autonomy. The Institute received support from the North Eastern Council, Government of Assam, and the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India until 2017. It’s situated in Gopinath Nagar, Guwahati, Assam.
