Assam Agricultural University is inviting applications for project-based positions in 2024. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for the role of Project Assistant in the project titled “Evaluation of land suitability for summer rice in Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam using GIS and remote sensing.”

Essential Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Geoinformatics, Agriculture, Mathematics, or related field.
- Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics is required.

Desirable Qualification:
- Proficient in Remote Sensing & GIS software: ESRI, ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, etc.
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis and image processing techniques.
- Experience in data collection through GPS survey.
- Familiarity with tools for developing geospatial data.
Experience:
Preference given to candidates with:
- Working knowledge of technical training in remote sensing & GIS.
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in vegetation phenology, land use, land cover change, and database management.
Salary: Rs. 25000/- per month + 8% HRA
Age limit: Not more than 35 years
Relaxation:
- 5 years for ST/SC candidates
- 3 years for OBC candidates
